Blueberry thrill
PYO begins at Wimborne’s Trehane Nursery on 22nd July and every year people travel miles to get their pick of the crop.
“We have a full three acres dedicated to PYO this summer so hopefully we’ll have enough for everyone,” said Jeremy Trehane. “Of course, when the fruit ripens does depend on the weather so we always advise people to check with us first if travelling any distance.
Eight varieties of blueberry will be available this year, ranging in flavour from the supersweet Berkeley to the sophisticated Herbert and slightly perfumed Coville – and there’s nothing to beat that freshly picked taste.”
Check availability on the special blueberry hotlines,
TEl 01202 873642, or 01202 873490”.
