Aspen green fuels are especially designed for small capacity 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. Aspen green petrol is made in Sweden and is the petrol predominantly used in Scandinavia in 2-stroke engines. The Aspen fuels are made from the cleanest form of petrol available – alkylate petroleum. Aspen is sulphur free and contain less than 1% of the amount of benzene found in normal petrol. In addition it is also free from aromatics and olefins. This is especially important in engines without any catalytic converters. This environmental side of the aaoil.co.uk will expand quickly with new products. Aquadyne is made from any plastic from shopping bags and bread trays, flowerpots to silage wrappers and wheelie bins all different kinds of plastic can be mixed together. Britain produces four million tonnes of industrial, domestic and agricultural waste each year. Aquadyne is an extrusion process, annually converting tonnes of mixed and plastic waste into a valuable product.
Aquadyne can increase drainage capacity against any other process by a minimum of three times and it never clogs. The slabs of product can withstand weight up to 1000 tonnes per square metre. It can be screwed, welded and cut and each square metre will drain up to 20 litres of water per second.
It has a flow rate ten times that of sand, even compression. Its other benefit is that it does not dry out the top soil, which causes cracking during prolonged periods of drought as it retains between 0.5 and 1.5 litres of water per 1000mm x 220mm 45mm panel.
Head of Marketing, James Arrowsmith, explained: The other great benefit of Aquadyne is its ease of installation. You dont have to dig deep and wide trenches as you do with conventional drainage systems. It sits just four inches below the ground and needs a trench just 2 inches wide. This does not ruin the surface which is particularly important on golf courses, playing fields and garden lawns.

E.P.Barrus ‘s new Cub Cadet Front Mount Zero-Turn Mowers combine ‘the manoeuvrability of a zero-turn rider, the comfort of a garden tractor, the operator view of a domestic zero turn and the accuracy of a front mount deck’. There are three models in the range, the FMZ 42 and 50 SD both of which are side discharge models and the FMZ 48 RD which is a rear discharge model.
Designed for professional gardeners and landowners, these mowers have the versatility to mow around fences and trees and the easy-to-see front mount deck maximises mowing accuracy in corners and under low obstacles. No extra trimming is required which considerably shortens the time needed for reworking. They even stay on track on hills – usually a weak spot in traditional zero-turn mowers. Cub Cadet has developed a new STS (Synchronised Traction System), a patented control unit that synchronises the steering of the front wheels and the speed of the rear wheels for maximum traction on hills. Additional features include a large discharge chute for rough terrain or there is a standard mulch kit for a clean cut.
All models feature the innovative, time saving benefit of zero-turn technology with a soft touch tilt steering wheel and an adjustable high-back seat with arm rests providing maximum operator comfort.
The FMZ 42 SD is fitted with a 17hp Kohler single cylinder overhead valve engine, and the FMZ 50 SD and the 48 RD are both fitted with a 22hp Kawasaki twin overhead valve engine. These professional grade engines offer excellent power, quiet and reliable operation and longer life.
The Cub Cadet Front Mount Zero-Turn Mowers are available through Barrus’s specialist network of over 350 authorised dealers offering exceptional levels of after-sales and technical service

Bobcat has launched a new range of ‘Tiltrotators’, expanding the selection of attachments for the range of Bobcat excavators. The first of the new Tiltrotators is the TR05 model for use on the 5-tonne Bobcat 435 excavator. The Tiltrotator increases flexibility and versatility at the end of the excavator boom for the use of attachments such as buckets and grabs.
According to Bobcat, Tiltrotators are an important development in the market for excavators, which are increasingly being seen as tool carriers capable of much more than simply digging holes. Using the Tiltrotator with the appropriate attachments can provide flexible and cost-effective solutions for a wide range of applications not normally undertaken with excavators.
To complement the TR05 Tiltrotator, Bobcat is launching a new line of attachments specifically for use with the Tiltrotator. They include two grading bucket models; two standard digging bucket models; trenching buckets; an asphalt cutter; a ripper attachment and a hydraulic stone grab.
As well as tilting attachments up to 40o to the left or the right, the TR05 Tiltrotator can rotate an attachment through 360o in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. All Tiltrotator functions can be operated simultaneously and proportionately using the joysticks in the excavator cab.
The mounting system for the attachment on the Tiltrotator is the standard S40 hydraulic quick coupler system. The operator is able to change between non-hydraulic attachments on the Tiltrotator by pressing two switches simultaneously in the cab, without having to leave the seat.
Bobcat has also launched a completely new line of Tree Transplanter attachments for use with Bobcat skid-steer, compact tracked and all-wheel steer loaders. Available in several styles and sizes, the new tree transplanter attachments work efficiently in a wide variety of soil conditions.
The tree transplanters reduce labour costs by eliminating time consuming manual digging. The tree transplanters are simple to operate and easy to manoeuvre, with complete control from the operator’s seat in the Bobcat compact loader. The excellent visibility from the cab allows the operator to dig a tree and transplant it without having to leave the seat.

BRIAN JAMES has engineered a tough new range of tipping trailers to make life easier and safer for owners and operators.
The engineering team wanted to make a tougher, safer new range of tipper trailers that shared the hallmark quality and stable towing performance of their car transport products.
With ‘tough and safe’ defined as the key design goals, the engineers first brought the bed height down to help loading and tow-ability, then steel lined the deck for durability and low stick. They fitted the new range of trailers with heavy duty electric tipping equipment and built in a remote control which allows the operator to stand back and safely view the drop zone. Finally, the design allows for the two loading ramps to be put side by side, helping wheel barrow loaders operate more efficiently and safely.
But tough doesn’t have to mean heavy; by choosing a very high grade steel, the designers have made the chassis stronger and lighter – which means more load capacity.
Brian James’ advanced engineering and innovation have brought user benefits to every area of Tipper trailer design and have helped to make this British company one of Europe’s leading trailer manufacturers.

DJ Turfcare will this year be introducing the VIANO range of fertilisers. These include

1. MO Bacter, an organic slow release fertiliser which kills moss and contains bacteria which helps to improve the soil. MO Bacter kills moss without turning
it black or causing staining to stonework, patios or paths.

2. Recovery, again an organic slow release fertiliser containing chealeated humifirst, a mix of humic and fulvic acid components which digest thatch and improves the biological balance in the soil. They help to promote the development of plant root systems by increasing their capacity to take up water and nutrients.

3. Bio Gazon Chalk – as its name suggests this helps to higher the ph in the soil and also contains bacteria. The bacteria digests the thatch which stimulates the action of the fertilisers.

• HD200 SelectSpray turf sprayer
The New Quick Adjust cutting units for cylinder mowers Feature s a patented Speed Link system that is unique in the industry, John Deere’s new Quick Adjust (QA) cutting cylinders provide rapid height of cut adjustment from either side of the units.

The HD200 benefits from advanced technology developed in the company’s market leading range of specialist agricultural sprayers. It offers a choice of centrifugal or diaphragm pumps, manual or automatic rate controls and a range of boom options that now come with electro-hydraulic boom lift and lower as standard. A common wiring harness allows the control system to be changed very easily, if required.

MultiHog the new name in multipurpose utility vehicles, will be launched art the show and at the Ploughing Championships in Kildare, Ireland. Started by father and daughter Jim McAdam, one of the original owners of Moffett Engineering and Ruth McAdam in early 2008, the company has designed and are manufacturing the first of a range of utility vehicles designed for Highway and Groundscare maintenance. This new vehicle, the MultiHog, is a self propelled, diesel powered, hydrostatically driven vehicle suited to grass cutting, road sweeping, snow blowing, snow ploughing, and endless other applications.
The MultiHog differentiates itself from all other machines with its robust design and extreme versatility. Its quick release mechanism makes changing attachments an effortless two minute job. Its tilting driver station, wide wheel base and low centre of gravity makes the MultiHog the only vehicle to choose for operating on inclines and rough terrain as well as flat conditions. The MultiHog’s fully enclosed cab with air conditioning and heating makes it operational all year round. With its robust mechanics engineered for a long lifespan and with operator safety being a crucial design consideration, the need for numerous specific vehicles can be replaced by one versatile machine, the MultiHog.
The company has driven from the start to produce a machine that will increase productivity, reduce downtime problems associated with current machinery and provide a safe working environment for the operator. With the MultiHog’s patented features including the MultiHog Sure Drive Differential Lock system and the MultiHog Tilting Driver Station, it is the level of reliability, productivity, versatility, and robustness that differentiates the MultiHog from any other current vehicles.

New Holland will showcase the latest technology for those looking to boost workrates and efficiency, alongside economical, versatile tractor power that can beat budget constraints, on stand V29 at Saltex.

Newly modified, the T1560 and T1570 tractors are ideal workhorses around the golf course, for landscape contractors and sports facilities, now featuring the latest three-cylinder tier III diesel engines rated at 30 and 33hp.
Frugal fuel consumption along with low levels of noise and vibration are major benefits of the latest engine technology, while New Holland’s exceptional build quality and use of heavy duty components makes for reliability and a long working life.

Despite their ‘economy’ designation, New Holland has not scrimped on the specification of the T1500 range, which includes four-wheel drive for improved traction and pulling efficiency, power steering and a choice of 9×3 mechanical drive or three-speed hydrostatic transmission.

Versatility to handle a range of attachments is offered by an 873kg capacity rear linkage and independent rear pto, while a mid-pto is standard on hydrostatic versions – perfect for New Holland’s Blueline mowing deck. Hydraulic capacity is 27.1 litres, enough to power implements including a new economy loader supplied through New Holland’s groundcare warehouse.

The operator environment is also top quality, with a spacious, uncluttered platform, adjustable seat and cup holder; a folding ROPS is standard. A tilting bonnet eases access for servicing, while regular tasks such as refuelling and oil level checks are carried out from the side of the bonnet.

New Holland’s award winning 41-51hp Boomer 3000 series will be a highlight of New Holland’s presence, featuring the EasyDriveTM CVT transmission. This highly innovative system, which can be fitted on tractors up to 115hp, uses a chain variator which is controlled via hydraulic pressure. Power is then split and sent through an epicyclic gearset to deliver infinitely variable and highly efficient power to the wheels.

Tractors with the EasyDriveTM transmission have been shown to make 11% more power available at the pto than a hydrostatic equivalent, dramatically increasing efficiency when operating powered implements such as mowers and Verti-Drains. Speeds from 0.3 to 30kph can be achieved without gear shifting, and a cruise control allows forward and reverse speeds to be set for the task in hand. This offers an ideal solution for fixed speed work such as aeration and spraying, while reactivity can also be selected to ensure slow acceleration on delicate turf or a quick move off on the road.

New Holland’s SupersuiteTM cab is another outstanding feature of the Boomer 3000. Easy to access via two wide opening doors, the cab offers exceptional all-round visibility and even incorporates a roof window for loader work. Air conditioning is standard.

To make the most of the Boomer 3000’s exceptional capability for work, the SupersteerTM axle can be specified, giving a steering angle of 75 degrees. This works in tandem with SensitrakTM which disengages the drive to the front wheels on turns, eliminating turf scuffing.

And like any serious contender, the Boomer 3000 punches above its weight with rear lift capacity of 1600kg, handling the high capacity implements favoured by groundcare professionals.

With two such innovative tractor series just part of an extensive range which spans 21-106hp from sub-compacts to the T5000 utility tractor, professional ride-on mowers and an extensive line of purpose-designed attachments from the company’s groundcare warehouse, the New Holland stand is an essential destination for any visitor to Saltex.

ALL TURF MANAGEMENT
AllTurf Management will be showing its complete range of seawood and carbohydrate products that solve the problems caused by dependence on petro-chemical based fertilisers and pesticides, and the use of high sand root zone facilities. Based on seaweed, naturally occurring amino acids and carbohydrates, the combined action of the materials stimulate and multiply soil micro-organisms which help to cut down on synthetic fertilisers and provide natural disease suppression. This makes the products very effective in helping turf to efficiently move nutrients within the turfgrass for optimum growth, recovery and stress resistance.
AllTurf can provide correct nutrition for quality turf surfaces, change from a chemical dependency to naturally occurring nutrients that grass plants respond to and develop a resilient and energetic sward, as well as identify and correct turf problems caused by nematodes in conjunction with Queen’s University, Belfast. Complete Weed Control have a new location at this year’s show, where their extensive demo plot will enable visitors to see the company’s groundbreaking weed control technology in action throughout the event.

Heightened sensitivity on the Mach 3 Weed-IT pesticide application system enables the operator to deliver even greater accuracy of chemical treatment to ensure that only weeds are sprayed.

CWC is focusing on new advances on the Weed-IT – for which it has sole user rights in the UK – to push home the message to public and private sector parks and facility managers that the machine is a vital element in any pesticide reduction programme.

Continuing with this theme, CWC’s Managing Director, Ian Graham, will be taking part in the seminar programme on Wednesday at 10.45am. His presentation, ‘Integrated Vegetation Management – Joined up thinking for controlling weeds in the urban environment’, will tackle weed control in established town and cities. It’ll also outline the practical steps that local authorities can take to enhance the urban environment and reduce the amount of herbicides they apply, beginning with the design of open spaces.

Visitors will also be able to see the very first demonstrations of baseguard, the range of flexible tree well surfaces that alleviate compaction, remove trip hazards, prevent weed growth and stop the collection of litter and leaves.

DMMP Limited will be launching new products as well as showcasing its bestsellers.
The new products being launched include the Go-Line Marking System and the Go-Spray Sprayer.
The Go-Line Marking System has been developed to produce quality durable markings for all surfaces in sports and open spaces. This new line marker and liquid is environmentally-friendly as its uniquely engineered pressure spray system and line marking liquid does not harm the turf or wash out or fade. Go-Line offers exceptional value for money as the markings grow out, rather than being vulnerable to the effects of sun or rain.
The Go-Spray Sprayer is also new and increases the range of pedestrian sprayers available from the DMMP stable as it joins the single nozzle EarthWay S25, which is popular in gardens. The professional standard, battery-operated Go-Spray sprayer is ideal for sports clubs and amenity professionals requiring top performance.
DMMP is the newly appointed sole European distributor for this proven and established product range which is expected to prove very popular in the EU. SALTEX is the first time the UK market will be able to see the products and discuss how they can be of use to grounds people.
“Go-Line Marking Systems are efficient, productive, labour-saving, transportable, robust and environmentally-friendly,” explains DMMP managing director Marcus Palmer. “SALTEX is the ideal place to launch Go-Line and Go-Spray as it is the annual showcase of what’s new and best in the industry.”
DMMP will also be taking the opportunity to show people two of its other products: EarthWay spreaders for turf and grounds management and PolyWood benches, ideal for schools and sporting venues. DMMP has recently announced that EarthWay spreaders can now be used to apply Bayer’s Merit Turf ensuring accurate and effective spreading that will keep chafer and leatherjacket grubs at bay. PolyWood benches are manufactured from recycled plastic bottles and offer an eco-responsible alternative to painted wood as it does not fade, chip or peel.
“We have a full and informative stand to offer visitors,” concludes Marcus “so I look forward to welcoming people to stand H37D when they come to SALTEX.

The new model, which can fold its outer decks at the flick of a switch to reduce transport width to a mere 78in, brings the accuracy and flexibility of a nimble trim mower to the grass cutting industry at a price as low as many of the rigid deck, low resolution mowers. ‘It is said to offer the productivity of mowers costing twice as much with a level of accuracy that is unsurpassed by any other unit on the market’.

With cutting heights adjustable from 1.25in to 4.5in, and with side discharge and mulching capability, the Articulator 3300 provides superior maneuverability and cut quality to conventional mid-mount and out-front rivals. This mower is ideal for grassland areas with difficult trimming demands and multiple height requirements, providing unmatched results on commercial applications that need productivity coupled with precision cut quality. It has a 600mm side reach allowing close trimming around trees, near pond banks, ditches and other obstacles.

Power is provided by a 33hp Kubota diesel engine.

Adjustable control arms make it easy for the operator to be in the most comfortable position. A quick adjustment facility for the suspension seat enables the operator to customise the ride for his or her weight. Throttle, blade engagement and key switch are all in reach of the operator’s right hand. There are two six-gallon tanks with large caps make it easy to fuel without spillage.

The 3300 has been developed as the ride-on version of Lastec’s popular 521 tractor-mounted unit, which is also on display at Saltex. The latest development to the out-front version of the 521, now renamed the 100 Series, is mounted on a JCB traction unit on Lastec’s stand at Saltex. Introduced as a prototype at Harrogate in January, the model has now been refined and tailored to fit a range of market leading tractors, includinjg Shibaua, New Holland, John Deere, Kubota, Carrara, Belos, Holder, Abie and Reform.

Also on the stand is Lastec’s flagship 721XR Articulator, with a cutting width of 3.5 metres (11ft) is ‘universally recognized as the most capable and productive contoured-terrain mowing deck available’. The front-mounted 721XF version is also available, compatible with most commonly used traction units.

Stand V51/51a

New Holland will showcase the latest technology to boost workrates and efficiency.
Newly modified, the T1560 and T1570 tractors are ideal workhorses around the golf course, for landscape contractors and sports facilities, now featuring the latest three-cylinder tier III diesel engines rated at 30 and 33hp.
Frugal fuel consumption along with low levels of noise and vibration are major benefits of the latest engine technology, while New Holland’s build quality and use of heavy duty components makes for reliability and a long working life.

To make the most of the Boomer 3000’s capability for work, the SupersteerTM axle can be specified, giving a steering angle of 75 degrees.

AQUADYNE
Inspired by an ancient Roman form of land management called a thorn drain, where blackthorn briars were laid into a trench to remove water by a wick and open cavity system allowing water to trickle down the surfaces of the briars without becoming clogged by sand and stones, Aquadyne has developed a product to replicate this system using 100% recycled plastic.

From plastic shopping bags, bread trays, flowerpots, silage wrappers and wheelie bins – all different kinds of plastic can be mixed together – Aquadyne is produced by an extrusion process, annually converting tonnes of mixed and plastic waste into a valuable product making it a green option with a direct saving of 2 tonnes of GHG emissions for every 200 metres.

Backed by Newcastle University researchers, the claim is that it can increase drainage capacity against any other process by a minimum of three times without clogging. The slabs of product can withstand weight up to 1,000 tonnes per m2, can be screwed, welded and cut, and each square metre will drain up to 20 litres of water per second. It has a flow rate ten times that of sand and does not dry out the top soil retaining between 0.5 and 1.5 litres of water per 1,000 mm x 220 mm 45 mm panel.

Easy to install, it sits four inches below the ground and needs a trench just 2 inches wide and does not ruin the surface, particularly important on golf courses, where it has been successfully installed in Europe and the USA, on playing fields, garden lawns, farms and National Parks.

See the system on demonstration where water will be continuously pouring through sand and silt, and then Aquadyne.

BAYER
The new chafer grub control product, Merit Turf makes its UK exhibition debut. Being a granular formulation, Merit Turf is more environmentally friendly than spraying applications, and the product can be mixed with top dressings or sand as a preventative control programme.

Although the main activity for Merit Turf is preventative (it is transported systemically in the turf) it also has curative control up to the two instar larval stage of the grub.

Also on the stand, the new Schmidt Swingo 100 sub-compact sweeper – fitted with a purpose-designed CDA Spraying Unit by Amenity Land Services – can control vegetation at the same time as sweeping walkways, footpaths, pavements and channels. The side or rear mounted spray arms deliver herbicide to the target area by using an automatically calibrated method, which has a very low risk of environmental hazards such as overdosing and spray drift. This action allows the one-man operation of the Swingo 100 to treat weed growth at the same time as sweeping and vacuuming litter. Travel speeds are up to 25 kph, and there is front-wheel drive and hydraulic disc brakes.

The herbicide applied – CDA Vanquish Biactive, by Bayer, is stated as the safest, most effective CDA glyphosate on the market. Under new CHIP 3 legislation, CDA Vanquish Biactive has no hazard rating.

BOURNE AMENITY
Visit the stand to discover how green compost, rich in natural nutrients and composted to PAS 100 – the EA accepted quality standard – is combined with washed sports sand to eliminate the need for artificial fertilisers. The compost provides a slow release feed to the turf all through the growing season and Sports Sand Plus costs no more than straight sand applied to the turf because there is no Aggregate Tax payable. Users get the benefit of the nutrients and all the trace elements when sand is applied to renovate winter pitches.

Sports Sand Plus is a mix of 70 per cent medium coarse washed silica sand and 30 per cent 10mm green compost by volume – for a richer nutrient content go for Sports Sand Double Plus.

PERFO
Self-anchoring, grass reinforcement solutions from Perfo and Terra-Grid are suitable for reinforcing soft ground and grassed areas such as tracks, grass car parks, airfields, agricultural areas and caravan parks.

Comprising secure interlocking tiles that are rolled into grass or soft ground to prevent rutting, the tiles have a textured surface that affords a safe anti-slip surface. Once installed, they allow grass to grow through them, helping to preserve the natural appearance of the location and natural drainage is maintained as the tiles allow water to flow through.

In most cases Perfo and Terra-Grid can be rolled into unprepared even ground needing no excavation. A sub-base can be used for heavy load applications and apart from a roller or rammer, no special tooling or skills are needed. Both products are manufactured from recycled plastic and while intended for long-term use, the tiles can be removed if required.

WIEDENMANN
Being launched at the show is the GXi8 Terra Spike deep fast aerator bringing Wiedenmann’s aeration range to nine. The new machine has a working width of 1.8 m and sits alongside the popular GXi6. With a 40 cm wider working width than the GXi6 it is suitable for tractors 35 HP and above. The machines are very efficient due to the depth and quality of finish, and they negate the need for two machines as they operate as deep aerators with the speed normally associated with machines operating at shallow depths.

A new conveyor system has become available from Wiedenmann’s trading division Groundpro. The Pro-Cast range of top dressers. The new elevator now makes this machine a versatile material handling system as well as a top quality bulk top dresser. The front-mounted system can deliver material into smaller top dressers or trailers, back fill drains and top up bunkers. It comprises a cross conveyor belt which feeds the fully adjustable hydraulically driven elevator belt.

There will also be a selection of robust collectors, mowers and all-rounders including the 2009 conveyor system for the Pro-Cast bulk top dresser on show.
