ARTISAN AVENUE..... HARD LANDSCAPING SHOW
Claudia de Yong is an RHS Gold and Tudor Rose medal winner and is one of the country's leading garden and water garden designers and she is passionate about the wealth of talent that exists in the UK she always seeks to use limited edition, hand crafted products on her own projects whenever possible.
Claudia says "There are some marvellous craftsmen and women in this country but as small businesses they are normally not able to exhibit at events like THE HARD LANDSCAPING SHOW”
The shows' organisers, Marwood Events, were keen to help and donated some hall space.
Event Director Steven Callaghan takes up the story - "We sent out a number of invitations from a list prepared by Claudia and the first to sign-up was Chris Nangle Furniture Design, a manufacturer of quite superb bespoke garden and street furniture and memorial benches".
"Chris was quickly followed by Fenland Ironmongery, who handcraft lovely wrought iron products such as plant holders and arbours and we were then delighted to welcome Helen Nock Garden Furniture and Sculpture who creates some stunning work that would lift any garden or landscaping design. The most recent sign-up, Quercus Fencing, is the designer and manufacturer of gorgeous, originally designed and sustainable oak fencing that is stylish, practical and strong” said Steven.
Claudia adds, "I am working hard to try to fill the last few available spaces as this is a such an exceptional opportunity for craftsmen and women to present their work at a major industry event to a hall that will be full of potential customers - any interested parties that haven't been invited by me can send me their details via the show website".
Marwood's S teven Callaghan has the last word - "I think it's worth pointing out that Claudia has put all of her time and effort into this entirely without payment for which she deserves the thanks not only of the show organisers, but equally the artisans themselves and, ultimately, the show visitors who will have their time at the show enhanced by these fine ex amples of craftsmanship”.
